The Traditional Yoga Association® (TYA) takes its responsibilities for safeguarding extremely seriously and believes that it is never acceptable for a child, young person, vulnerable adult, or anyone to experience abuse of any kind.
We strongly believe that everyone, regardless of their age, background, ability, culture, disability, gender, religious beliefs and sexual orientation has the right to protection from abuse.
All Yoga teachers of the TYA are required to uphold the TYA Code of Ethics and Practice in their relations with all their students. If any TYA Yoga teacher teaches children, young people or vulnerable adults they are required to enforce rigorous safeguarding standards. At all times the TYA seeks to protect the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults who engage with us. As defined in the Children's Act 1989, anyone under the age of 18 should be considered a child.
Reporting safeguarding concerns
Where there is a possibility of abuse or neglect by a person or persons, everyone has a responsibility to report their concerns to the appropriate person. If you have any concerns please contact the designated Safeguarding lead:
