The Traditional Yoga Association

This is a small but major and certainly most loved of the Upanishads. It tells the story of a young man’s persistent questioning of Lord Yama, the god of death. What emerges is a dialogue with death that is a sublime teaching about life.

From Katha Upanishad:

“Remain present only to that Presence,
Knowing that It is what is.
Then It will reveal Itself
In Its essence and in all Its glory.
When your heart is free
Of all the desires that now surround it,
You will stand at the gates of immortality
Before that Self.”
