When Elizabeth was looking for a form of exercise that didn’t just improve fitness she found Yoga and discovered the personal benefits of

re-connecting with herself. Working with the breath and focusing on the asanas brought about a deeper self-awareness and attunement that had got lost in the hurly-burly of life. Despite the fact that Yoga can be a strenuous form of exercise it can also meet the individual at whatever level of fitness, health or illness they are in. Suffering from a chronic inflammatory disease Elizabeth found yoga improved her physical well-being and her emotional and mental distress from the chronic nature of illness.

“I bring experience from my previous and current walks of life in the form of my nursing and medical background and my therapeutic practice as a counsellor. These strands of my life shape the person I am and gently interweave with my Yoga. My classes incorporate breath-work and chanting which so richly enhance the function of the breath and heighten a sense of well-being and calm. They are great antidotes to the stress and anxiety of modern day life. I include a period of meditation in each class to offer a safe space to experience self and silence. The asanas range from light and easy to more technically difficult with the emphasis on working within the limitations that each of us have as our starting point and from which we build strength and flexibility toward our potential. I seek to encourage the experience of the breath and movement into the asana rather than arriving at the end result. Yoga is about the experiences on the journey and not the arrival at the destination. In my world there are two guidelines to the spiritual practice of yoga

1) To begin the practice of Yoga

2) To continue

My classes are warm and friendly and I invite you to contact me to begin your Yoga practice. I offer day and evening classes and private tuition.”
